“Young People in all their diversities are key Stakeholders in the implementation and review of the SDGs.”

On Friday, October 25, 2024, we co-hosted a 3rd Annual National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Multistakeholders’ Youth Pre-Conference in collaboration with the SDGs Kenya Forum, the National Youth Council, VSO Kenya and the Kenya School of Government ahead of the main conference. The pre-conference sought to enhance inclusivity of young people in implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the SDGs.

The insightful partner and guest remarks, a youthful panel discussion and an open mic session all provided a platform for young people to engage with various stakeholders on SDGs implementation and review in Kenya through their representatives, assess progress made in implementing previous recommendations, raise levels of awareness of SDGs and expanded the network of young people that actively innovate and tackle Kenya’s most pressing sustainability challenges.

Spoken word artist Kijana Mtanashati also graced the ballroom stage during the preconference demonstrating the importance of creative hashtag#Art4SustainableDevelopment.

The recommendations from the youth pre-conference will be presented during the upcoming Annual National Multi-stakeholders’ Conference 2024.
