During the recent 4th Global Tourism Resilience Day, Conference and Expo (#GTRDCE) held at KICC in Nairobi, Champions for SDGs Youth joined policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, development partners, and investors to advance practical solutions for hashtag#tourismresilience. The high-level international conference was convened by the Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, in partnership with the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre and took place from February 16 – 18, 2026.

The organization’s exhibition booth featured vibrant conversations on conservation, climate education, and sustainable tourism. Additionally, our founder, Arnold Gekonge, spoke on one of the panels titled “Resilience for All: Advancing Women, Youth, and Indigenous Leadership in Tourism,” which focused on social resilience by empowering marginalized groups who are often most affected by shocks. The panel highlighted models where diversity drives innovation and sustainable recovery, including formal structures needed to ensure young leaders have a genuine voice in national tourism policy.

The conference also featured a reception, a cultural exchange night, an award ceremony, and excursions on urban conservation and wildlife resilience at the Nairobi National Park and cultural resilience and heritage sustainability at the National Museums of Kenya.
