The #InternationalYouthDay (IYD), observed annually on August 12, provides a global platform to recognize the invaluable contributions of young people to sustainable development, peace, innovation, and inclusive governance. The 2026 theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” acknowledges the diverse realities that young people experience across countries and communities while emphasizing their shared desire for a more just, inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable future. The theme calls for greater collaboration across generations, sectors, and societies to ensure that young people are meaningfully engaged in shaping solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

Champions for SDGs Youth, in collaboration with the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office, the United Disabled Persons of Kenya, the National Youth Council Kenya, and the International Economic Partnerships and Frameworks Coordination Directorate have therefore organized this exciting webinar on Microsoft Teams. By showcasing practical examples of youth leadership and innovation, the webinar will strengthen awareness of the SDGs, encourage meaningful youth participation in sustainable development processes, and cultivate a vibrant network of young changemakers working collectively towards a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
