Empowering young people in biodiversity and environmental conservation: a game count in Athi-Kapiti Conservancy

Young people are both key stakeholders and future custodians of our natural environment. Through awareness, education, advocacy, networking, and hands-on action, youth can build the knowledge, skills, and leadership to address environmental challenges, shape sustainable practices and policies, and inspire communities to protect biodiversity for present and future generations.

On October 2 & 3, 2026, we joined fellow youth in conservation and other stakeholders for camping, followed by an exciting game count in Athi-Kapiti Conservancy. This was at the invitation of Nature Kenya’s Youth Committee, which is keen on engaging and empowering young people in biodiversity and environmental conservation through awareness, education, advocacy, networking, and hands-on conservation activities.

At Champions for SDGs Youth, we remain committed to empowering youth to take meaningful action for sustainable development through our thematic focus on #EnvironmentalConservation, #SustainableTourism, and #ClimateAction.
